Animal Kingdom Characters & Experiences: Priorities, Nostalgia & a Bit of Uncertainty

Animal Kingdom feels different—calmer but still full of magic. I’m planning character and experience priorities, but with all the Dinoland changes, I’m a little unsure where some characters will be.
One thing’s clear: Mickey and Minnie in safari gear are my top priority. My husband and I have each met them here before, and I want to recreate those sweet memories with our toddler.
I’m also hoping to spot:
Pluto
If a version of Goofy will exist
Other surprise characters popping up
Experiences I’m Excited About
Characters are great, but Animal Kingdom’s little moments make it special:
The petting zoo at Conservation Station—perfect for my toddler.
Wilderness Explorers badge collecting—a fun way to explore.
Pandora at night—hoping to catch those glowing bioluminescent trails if we decide to stay longer.
Animal Kingdom magic isn’t loud—it’s in quiet trails, animal encounters, and those nostalgic Mickey hugs. I’m focusing on making memories and staying flexible with characters.
