Disney Genie+ & Lightning Lane: Everything I’m Considering for My Gameplan
Planning a Disney trip is overwhelming enough—add the thought of getting sick mid-vacation, and things can feel impossible. I’m working through my Genie+ and Lightning Lane options for each park and wanted to put all the information in one spot to help myself (and maybe you!) make sense of it. I’m still in the deciding phase on whether I’d actually purchase Genie+, but here’s what I’ve been thinking.
Lightning Lane & Genie+ Basics:
Individual Lightning Lanes (ILLs): These are separate from Genie+ and require an extra purchase. Currently available for:
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Tron
Guardians of the Galaxy
Rise of the Resistance
Avatar Flight of Passage
Genie+ Tiers:
Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios: Rides are split into Tier 1 and Tier 2, with Tier 1 being the more “must-do” attractions that only allow one selection at a time.
Animal Kingdom: All Genie+ rides are the same tier, so you can book them freely throughout the day.
Right now, I’m just gathering info and mentally noting which rides would be worth it if we went through with a sick-day Genie+ plan. My goal is to decide soon whether buying Genie+ makes sense, and once I do, I’ll create a full strategy for each park.
