Animal Kingdom is one of those parks that feels completely different depending on who you’re traveling with. As parents, we’re planning our day around both toddler-friendly adventures and the big rides we still want to sneak in for ourselves during toddler's rest time.
Our Current Priorities
✨ Toddler-Friendly Must-Dos
Na’vi River Journey – This one’s at the very top. It’s slow, beautiful, and perfect for little ones who might be overwhelmed by loud or intense rides. Plus, the glowing scenery is mesmerizing for all ages.
Kilimanjaro Safaris – Real animals, up close. It’s such a fun way to keep our toddler engaged while we enjoy the scenery ourselves. I’m already excited to hear the first “Look, a giraffe!” moment.
🎢 Adults-Only Thrills
Expedition Everest – A true Disney thrill ride. Twists, turns, and the infamous yeti.
Avatar Flight of Passage – Even if you’ve done it before, it never stops being a jaw-dropping experience. Totally worth the wait.
What’s Not on Our List (For Now)
Right now, shows aren’t a priority for us. That’s not to say they won’t be added later, but we’re focusing our first draft plan on rides and attractions that will keep everyone excited and moving. The nice thing about Animal Kingdom is that you can always adjust as the day goes on—so there’s still plenty of time to explore and change our minds.
Final Thoughts
Planning a Disney day is all about balance. For us, it’s making sure our toddler has magical moments and we get our dose of adventure. Our current plan is a mix of gentle rides, incredible scenery, and a couple of big thrills for the adults—enough to keep the whole family happy.
