Our Loose Hollywood Studios Day Plan (Because Toddlers Don’t Care About Schedules)

Let’s be honest — no matter how much I plan, the real boss of this trip is our toddler. Still, I love having a loose itinerary to give our day some structure (and help me feel a little more in control). Plus, I designed a page in my planner that pulls each category’s priorities I’ve already picked — total Type A mom win.
Our goal in theory is to rope drop each park, but with a toddler… who knows how that’ll go. The idea is there, though!
Morning Plans
We’re starting our day with breakfast at the hotel, keeping it easy with cereals, protein bars, and snack packs we brought along. Then we’ll hop on the boat over to Hollywood Studios — the most convenient way to get there from our resort (and bonus: no folding the stroller for a bus ride).
Since Genie+ can’t be perfectly planned ahead, I’m organizing the day as if we don’t have it. My main focus is on what’s doable and fun without rushing.
Rope Drop & Morning Priorities
We’ll start the morning in the Toy Story Land area, since it’s bright, colorful, and perfect for grabbing our toddler’s attention first thing. While he snacks, we’ll try to knock out one of the bigger rides early.
Slinky Dog Dash – probably just for the adults while he munches.
Toy Story Mania and Alien Swirling Saucers – these will be must-dos for us!
We’ll also grab an Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance, since that’s a can’t-miss. The Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run single rider line might be an option later if time and toddler moods allow.
And if I happen to spot Max Goofy anywhere in the park? I’m dropping everything. Priorities.
Midday Break
Lunch will be a long, relaxed break — I’m planning for the fact that food waits happen, toddlers eat slowly, and rushing after a meal is a recipe for meltdown.
After that, I’m really hoping for a stroller nap (fingers crossed). If we get lucky, that’s when we’ll sneak in some adult rides like Tower of Terror or another run through Galaxy’s Edge.
Evening Plans
Dinner will be on the earlier side to avoid the biggest crowds and keep our little one happy. After that, we’ll leave some time to explore, maybe grab a special dessert, and do a little shopping before we call it a night.
Depending on energy levels, we might stay for Fantasmic! — or head back to the room for an early bedtime. I’m keeping that one flexible because… well, toddlers.
Final Thoughts
I love having a plan, but I’m also embracing the chaos this time around. Hollywood Studios has so much to offer — between the shows, Toy Story Land, and Star Wars — that I know we’ll have a magical day, no matter how our schedule shifts.
