I’ve been keeping a running wishlist for my toddler throughout the year. Since he has a summer birthday and then the holidays in December, I’m constantly adding ideas. This list isn’t just for gifts from others—it’s also a personal tool to help me avoid impulse buying, since most items are “want” rather than “need.” I can always remove things if we decide we don’t need them.
We also share this wishlist with family and friends so they know what we would truly appreciate and what my toddler is interested in. It’s a great way to skip the guessing game and make sure gifts are thoughtful, age-appropriate, and something he will actually enjoy.

Below are some of the items currently on his wishlist for the holidays this year—and why I think they’d be so special for him.
Crayola Color Wonder Marker Refill Set (20ct) – Mess-Free Coloring
My little guy has started showing interest in coloring lately, which is exciting… and slightly terrifying. I mean, who hasn’t worried about markers on the walls? These Color Wonder markers seem like the perfect compromise. He gets to explore his creativity, and I don’t have to stress about redecorating our walls.
I also love that this can grow with him—we can keep adding paper and refill packs as he becomes more confident in his coloring skills. It’s an activity he can do independently (with supervision), and it doubles as a quiet, calm-down activity when he needs a break from the chaos.
TOY Life Wooden Puzzles for Toddlers (Sea Animals)
He’s been showing more interest in puzzles lately, and I love seeing him figure out how pieces fit together. These wooden puzzles are durable and safe for tiny hands, which is a must.
What excites me most is how educational they are without feeling like “school”. He’ll be learning shapes, colors, and animal names while having fun. Plus, I know puzzles help develop patience and problem-solving skills, which I think are super important at this age.
Fisher-Price Little People Big Yellow Bus Musical Pull-Along
We don’t have many set pieces for his Little People collection yet, and this bus seems like a perfect way to expand his pretend play world. I love that he can pull it along himself, make the doors open, flip out the stop sign, and just really engage with it.
It’s also a way for us to play together, practicing storytelling and imagination, which is something I treasure. The musical features are just a bonus because he loves pressing buttons and hearing silly songs.
Fisher-Price Little People Push & Play Tractor
He’s completely obsessed with farm animals right now, so this tractor is practically calling his name. I love toys that encourage him to build little stories in his mind—like he’s the farmer taking care of his animals.
I also appreciate that it’s easy for him to push and manipulate on his own, which gives him a sense of independence. And as a parent, seeing him get so into imaginative play is just the sweetest thing.
Babebay Disposable Stick-On Placemats (40 Pack)
I put these on the wishlist mostly for practical reasons, but also because they make mealtime less stressful for everyone. Eating out or even just sitting at the table can be chaotic, and having a clean, sanitary surface that sticks in place is such a relief.
Plus, the fun animal designs make it more engaging for him. I love gifts that are both useful for us and enjoyable for him—it’s a win-win.
Bentgo Chill Kids Leak-Proof Lunch Box
We already love Bentgo lunch boxes, but this one has a built-in ice pack, which would be so helpful for daycare or short trips. It’s practical, but also something he can feel responsible for using himself, which is a little confidence booster.
I also like that it can be used for years and adapts as he grows, which makes it feel like a gift that keeps on giving rather than something that will be outgrown in months.
This wishlist is full of fun, educational, and practical gifts that I know would make the holidays extra special. Whether it’s for a family member, friend, or us surprising him, these toys and essentials are sure to bring a smile to any toddler—and maybe a little sanity to the parents too!
