Spring always feels like a reset button. The air is lighter, the days are longer, and suddenly we all want to be outside again. With a toddler, it doesn’t have to be big or Pinterest-perfect to feel special. It can be simple. A blanket in the backyard. A rainy-day splash. A slow walk looking for colors.
So instead of overplanning the season, I made a tiny spring bucket list — easy, low-stress moments we can actually say yes to. Nothing fancy. Just little memories waiting to happen.
🌈 1. Color Nature Walk
Pick a color before you leave and find as many things in that color as possible — flowers, cars, doors, leaves.
🫧 2. Sidewalk Chalk Morning
Draw shapes, letters, or trace their body and let them color it in.
💐 3. Visit a Garden Center
Let them choose one flower or plant to “take care of” at home. Watering becomes their little job.
🚧 4. Watch Construction Trucks
Spring = roadwork season. Park safely and watch excavators, dump trucks, cement mixers.
🍇 5. Backyard Picnic (Even if It’s Just Snacks)
Lay out a blanket. Bring their usual snack.Eat outside for no reason at all.Toddlers think this is elite.
🌧️ 6. Puddle Jumping Day
Rain boots. Splashing allowed. No rushing.
🍓 7. Farmers Market Trip
Let them pick one fruit or treat. Talk about colors and smells.
🐛 8. Bug Hunt Adventure
Bring a magnifying glass and look for ants, worms, ladybugs. Practice gentle hands.
