Flamingo Pink isn’t just a color to me—it’s The Reclaiming. It’s that bold, confident vibe of finally stepping back into yourself after the chaos of motherhood. Being a mom changes everything, and it’s easy to forget who you are beyond diapers and schedules.

I hadn’t dyed my hair since before I got pregnant, but when my little one turned two, I went blonde. It was a small thing, but for me, it felt huge—a way to grab back parts of me I’d put on pause. That switch sparked a whole journey of self-care and growth, and Flamingo Pink became my symbol for confidence and creativity in this messy, amazing phase of life.

In this post, I’ll share how moms can start asking the right questions to find themselves again and sneak self-care into the daily hustle.

Discovering Flamingo Pink

The journey to self-discovery often involves bold choices. For many moms, this can mean embracing a vibrant new look that reflects their inner transformation.

Embracing Creative Expression

Blonde represents more than just hair color. It's a statement of individuality and a celebration of personal style. This bright hue can serve as a catalyst for creative expression in various aspects of life.

Choosing to dye your hair from brown to blonde can be a form of self-expression that extends beyond appearance. It often sparks a renewed interest in other creative pursuits, from art to fashion to home decor.

Many moms find that this brighter color choice gives them the confidence to explore new hobbies or revisit old passions. It's a reminder that motherhood doesn't mean losing your individual identity.

The act of maintaining this vibrant hair color can also become a form of self-care, encouraging regular salon visits or at-home pampering sessions.

Reclaiming Confidence and Self-Love

Dyeing my hair blonde added confidence and motivated me to care about my looks. I started to want to pay attention to hair care products in the shower, lotion to help my skin appear smoother, and use oil to lock in the lotion. I began caring about the way I dressed. Yes, Adam Sandler will always be my fashion icon at my core, but it does also feel nice to wear a real bra, put on a fitted shirt, and have something with some structure to it. I started wanting to get dressed instead of just throwing something on from my husband's closet.

Self-care isn’t optional—it’s how we keep our mental and emotional sanity as busy moms juggling it all.

Motherhood doesn’t stop personal growth; if anything, it pushes us to grow even more. Try carving out a little time most days—reading, learning something new, or just being mindful. Even tiny steps add up.

Personal growth isn’t selfish. When you invest in yourself, you’re also showing your kids how important it is to keep learning and growing. And don’t hesitate to ask for help so you can make time for you.

Ask yourself: What makes me feel alive? What do I really value? What dreams did I put on pause? Checking in with these questions (maybe journaling or chatting with a friend) helps you stay connected to yourself as you grow.

My Motherhood Journey

Every mom’s path is different, with its own ups and downs. Here’s a bit of my story about finding myself again through motherhood.

From Brown to Blonde

I don’t usually do pink hair, but the vibe of Flamingo Pink totally fits how I felt inside. I used to dye my hair every year or two, loving how it grew out into that soft ombre look. After having my baby, I kept putting it off—I wasn’t ready to bring back that “fun” part of me while deep in the postpartum fog. But as my kiddo neared two, I finally booked my hair appointment and sent my stylist some blonde inspo pics. That was a big moment for me—a wake-up call to put myself first. It gave me confidence and helped me start embracing my postpartum body instead of hiding it. I was proud of what it had done.

Celebrating Change

Going from brown to blonde felt like moving from muted to vibrant, like I was stepping into a brighter version of myself. It sparked me to start this blog, just to share my thoughts and experiences. Whether it goes anywhere or not, it feels good to create again and keep growing into who I am now.
