It feels like just yesterday we were setting up the Peg Perego Siesta, strapping in our tiny baby for his very first meal. I remember carefully slicing up a banana, setting it in front of him, and holding my breath to see what he would do. From those early mushy spoon-fed meals to the joyful chaos of pasta sauce smeared everywhere, that high chair has seen it all.

Baby in an orange high chair holding a banana, looking pensive. Grey and orange pants; dimly lit room in the background.

It even held a front-row seat to some of our favorite memories — like watching him smash his very first birthday cupcake and then, one year later, proudly digging into his second birthday treat. Those little frosting-covered smiles are ones I’ll never forget.

And now, somehow, we’ve arrived at this milestone: my two-year-old is choosing the regular seat at the table instead of his high chair. With mixed emotions, I look at him — and at the chair that has been part of so many of our family’s core memories.

There’s so much gratitude in my heart that we’ve made it to this point. That high chair carried us through late-night feedings, picky toddler experiments, and endless giggles at the dinner table. But alongside the gratitude, there’s also a little sadness. A chapter of babyhood is officially closing, and I wasn’t quite ready for how bittersweet that would feel.

Still, there’s excitement, too. Watching him sit tall at the table, part of the conversation, proud of being a “big boy,” is its own joy. It’s a glimpse of what’s ahead — independence, new routines, and a growing little personality.

Now the Peg Perego Siesta sits in the corner, waiting for me to muster up the confidence to give it a deep clean. Soon, it will move on to another family, another kitchen, and another set of firsts. And while I’ll miss seeing my baby in it, I know the chair will keep doing what it does best: holding memories, one messy bite at a time.

Why We Loved the Peg Perego Siesta

If you’re still in the high chair chapter, I can’t recommend the Peg Perego Siesta enough. Here are a few of the features we loved:

  • Grows with your baby – reclines for infants and transitions through toddlerhood.

  • Easy to clean – the removable tray and wipeable surfaces are lifesavers.

  • Sturdy and safe – it’s one of the most solid high chairs we’ve ever used.

  • Compact fold – perfect if you’re short on space.

It’s definitely an investment, but one that was worth it for us.
