The 3 Snacks You Can’t Leave Ocean City Without Trying
Ocean City, Maryland, has sunshine, sand, and waves… but for me, the real magic happens on the boardwalk. If you only have time for three treats to bring home, make it these local legends. These are also very yummy to enjoy while still on the boardwalk if you can't make it passed it.
1. Popcorn
The unmistakable smell of freshly popped popcorn drifting down the boardwalk is basically a rite of passage in Ocean City. Fisher’s Popcorn has been delighting visitors for decades with its buttery, salty goodness. From classic cheddar to caramel-coated varieties, there’s a flavor for every craving. Pro tip: try to grab a bag right when a fresh batch comes out—warm popcorn tastes like magic.
2. Caramel Apple
Eating a Dolle’s Caramel Apple is pure nostalgia. Their old-fashioned caramel hugs every inch of the crisp apple beneath, giving you that perfect mix of sweet and tart. There’s something about strolling along the boardwalk with sticky fingers and a satisfying crunch that makes this treat an Ocean City classic.
3. Salt Water Taffy
No boardwalk visit is complete without a bite of Dolle's Salt Water Taffy. Chewy, colorful, and available in countless flavors, this iconic candy is as fun to pick out as it is to eat. Grab a handful of your favorites—or mix and match for a rainbow of nostalgic goodness.
Whether you’re visiting for the day or spending a week, these snacks are more than treats—they’re part of the Ocean City experience. Foruntately for me, these are snacks that I won't be sharing with my toddler.
