There’s something about Valentine’s Day that makes me want to slow down and soak in the sweetness.

Not the over-the-top, Pinterest-perfect kind — but the cozy, real-life kind. The kind where your toddler is giggling in pajamas and the light coming through your bedroom window feels soft and warm.

This year, we kept it simple. And honestly? It might be one of my favorite little holiday shoots we’ve done.

What We Wore: Little Sleepies Valentine’s Sets

For this shoot, we wore matching pieces from Little Sleepies — and I officially understand the hype.

  • A long sleeve + pants set for my toddler

  • A women’s set for me

  • Pajama pants for dad

The goal was coordinated but comfortable. Not stiff. Not posed. Just us.

And the fabric? I’m not exaggerating when I say none of us wanted to take them off.

Why I’m Officially Converted

Little Sleepies creates blends that genuinely check every box for parents:

Lunaluxe® Bamboo – for the softest, comfiest sleep

Soluxe® Bamboo – for daytime adventures

Here’s what stood out to me:

Softest Fabrics Ever

🌿 Made From Bamboo

🤍 Soothes Sensitive Skin

🧴 Hypoallergenic

💛 Sensory Friendly

As a mom, sensory-friendly and gentle-on-skin fabrics matter. The stretch, the softness, the way they move with you — it just feels different. My toddler was completely comfortable (minus one small distraction… which we’ll get to 😅).

I think I’ve officially been converted to Little Sleepies pajamas.

The Setup: Cozy Bedroom Vibes

Instead of setting up a backdrop, we used our bedroom.

Natural light. Neutral bedding. Soft blankets. That’s it.

Valentine’s Day can feel red-and-pink overload sometimes, but I wanted this to feel calm and intimate — more “Sunday morning family snuggles” than themed studio session.

But here’s what made it feel effortless:

📱 My phone camera

I set my phone up on a tripod so I could take both photos and video completely hands-free. The light helped balance the shadows and keep everything soft and warm, especially since bedrooms can sometimes feel a little dim.

No fancy camera. No complicated equipment. Just simple tools that let me stay present instead of adjusting settings every five seconds.

We kept it relaxed:

  • Sitting on the bed

  • Laughing

  • Letting him move freely

  • Snuggling between shots

And because the pajamas were cute on their own, we didn’t need much else.

The One Mistake We Made 🙃

We accidentally left out the bubble wand from Disney World.

If you know, you know.

The second he saw it? That was the main character.

He was so focused on bubbles that getting eye contact became… negotiable 😂

But honestly? Those candid moments ended up being some of my favorites. It felt real. It felt like him. And that’s what I always want these little shoots to capture.

What I Learned From This Shoot

  1. Keep it simple.

  2. Use what you already have (your bedroom is perfect).

  3. A tripod + light make phone photos look elevated.

  4. Comfortable kids = better photos.

  5. Maybe hide the bubble wand next time.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t need a production. It can be pajamas, snuggles, and a 20-minute window of light.

And if those pajamas happen to be unbelievably soft bamboo that makes you reconsider every other set you own? Even better.
