Why I Need Coffee This Week: Because Fun Requires a Survival Plan

This week, coffee isn’t optional—it’s survival. Between our dog's vet visit, therapy sessions, prepping for the holidays that somehow feel like they’re already here, a hibachi night with friends (kids included, naturally), and a full-on family fun day with my parents, I’m pretty sure coffee is the only thing keeping me functioning like a human instead of a very tired, very confused blur.
Somehow, adulting requires juggling more than I thought possible, and I’m learning that coffee isn’t just a beverage—it’s a strategy. A warm, delicious, life-saving strategy. It fuels the chaos, powers the patience, and somehow makes it possible to laugh at the madness instead of crying into the laundry pile.
At some point this week, I’ll probably spill coffee on something important, forget where I put my keys (thank you airtag), and wonder why I signed up for all this fun and responsibility. But that’s okay—because I’ve got my cup, I’ve got my chaos, and I’ve got the memories I’ll eventually tell stories about. Just maybe after a nap…or another cup of coffee.
