Why I Need Coffee This Week: Girls Trip Edition

This week is going to be different. Really different. Why? Because I’m working a shortened week and heading on a girls trip! Cue the excitement—and the nerves.
Honestly, girls trips are so important for my mental health. This is my first big trip since I was pregnant, and I am very ready to remember what it feels like to be… me. Not “mom me,” not “wife me,” just plain old me me.
But before I dive into the fun stuff, let’s talk logistics: with this trip, some of my weekly appointments got shuffled around, and the landscapers are finally coming to tame the jungle of bushes and weeds that has taken over our yard. So yeah, it’s a little chaotic. But we survive—because coffee exists.
Anyway—back to the exciting stuff. Nashville! I’ve been there in passing (basically running from plane to car like a professional), but I’ve never truly experienced it. This trip is my chance to actually see the city, meet up with old friends, and make some new ones. Plus… we’re celebrating Taylor Swift’s new album, which is basically the ultimate excuse to scream-sing in public and wear sparkly outfits without judgment.
If you’re curious about Taylor Swift retreats—yes, those exist and yes, they’re amazing—check out @Mirrorball.magic on Instagram. You get together with other fans, do fun themed activities, and basically live your best Swiftie life for a weekend. Highly recommend.
So yes, I need coffee this week more than ever. To survive moving appointments, landscaping chaos, and packing outfits that are equal parts comfortable and “Instagram-ready.” And mostly, to fuel the excitement for a trip that’s going to be fun, freeing, and just what my soul needs.
Here’s to messy hair, late nights, and finally being me again—even if just for a few days.
